Privacy Policy for Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI

This Privacy Policy explains how Dynamica Labs LTD (“Dynamica Labs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, processes, stores, and shares information in connection with Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI (the “Product”, “Visual”, or “Service”).

Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI is a Microsoft Power BI custom visual that allows Power BI report authors and users to display, analyze, and filter location-based data on Google Maps inside Power BI reports. The Visual supports map markers, category colors, tooltips, labels, radius filtering, polygon and circle filtering, Google Places search, address search, Street View, heatmaps, clustering, custom layers, and other map-based analysis features.

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI and to related Dynamica Labs licensing, activation, support, and documentation services.

1. Information processed by the Visual

Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI processes only the data fields and settings that a Power BI report author chooses to provide to the Visual.

 

Depending on the report configuration and enabled features, the Visual may process the following types of data:

 

Power BI report data selected by the report author:

– Record ID or other unique object identifier

– Latitude and longitude coordinates

– Optional tooltip fields

– Optional label fields

– Optional category fields

– Optional measure fields used for visualization, filtering, layer coloring, or analysis

– Optional custom layer or GeoJSON data uploaded or configured by the report author

 

Map interaction data:

– Map center, zoom level, viewport, selected map type, and map display settings

– User-created circles, polygons, radii, and filter areas

– Search terms, addresses, place names, place categories, and selected places entered by users

– Selected markers, clusters, places, layers, or geographic areas

– Street View, 3D View, or “View on Google Maps” actions, when used

 

Licensing and activation data:

– Dynamica Labs license key

– Subscription, plan, trial, expiration, balance, or activation status

– Email address or account information provided during license activation or support

– Technical information needed to validate, activate, maintain, or troubleshoot the license

 

Support and communication data:

– Name, email address, company name, support request content, and any information voluntarily provided when contacting Dynamica Labs

 

– Technical logs, diagnostic details, browser or Power BI environment information, only where needed to investigate issues, maintain security, or improve the Product

2. How we use information

We use information processed through Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI for the following purposes:

 

– To display Power BI report data on Google Maps

– To render markers, labels, tooltips, categories, heatmaps, layers, and map controls

– To provide radius, polygon, circle, cluster, legend, Places, address, and layer-based filtering

– To save and restore Product settings configured by the report author

– To activate, validate, manage, and support Product licenses and trials

– To provide technical support and respond to customer requests

– To maintain security, prevent misuse, diagnose errors, and improve Product reliability

– To comply with legal, contractual, tax, accounting, and marketplace obligations

 

We do not sell Power BI report data.

 

We do not use Power BI report data for advertising.

 

We do not use Power BI report data to create unrelated customer profiles.

3. Data shared with Google Maps Platform

Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI uses Google Maps Platform services to provide map functionality.

 

Depending on the features enabled by the report author or used by the report user, relevant map-related data may be sent to Google Maps Platform, including:

 

– Latitude and longitude coordinates

– Map viewport, zoom level, and map interaction information

– Address search queries

– Google Places search queries, place categories, place names, place IDs, and selected places

– Street View, map imagery, route, or location-related requests

– The Google Maps API key configured for the Visual

 

Google processes such information under Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies, including:

Customers are responsible for configuring and managing their own Google Maps API key, billing, API restrictions, and Google Maps Platform compliance settings, unless otherwise agreed in writing with Dynamica Labs.

4. Data shared with Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Marketplace

Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI runs inside Microsoft Power BI. Microsoft may process information related to Power BI, AppSource, Microsoft Marketplace, licensing, tenant administration, report usage, acquisition, and customer account management according to Microsoft’s own terms and privacy statement.

Dynamica Labs does not control Microsoft Power BI tenant settings, Microsoft account data, Microsoft Marketplace acquisition flows, or Microsoft’s processing of customer information.

5. Data shared with Dynamica Labs services

The Visual may communicate with Dynamica Labs services for licensing, activation, trial validation, subscription validation, feature availability, security, and technical support.

 

The information sent to Dynamica Labs services may include:

 

– Dynamica Labs license key

– License plan, subscription status, trial status, expiration date, or balance

– Email address or account identifier provided during license activation

– Product version, host environment, and technical diagnostic information

– Information needed to verify whether the Product is being used under a valid license

 

Dynamica Labs uses this information only to provide, protect, maintain, license, support, and improve Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI.

6. Legal basis for processing

Where applicable data protection laws require a legal basis, we process personal data on one or more of the following bases:

 

– Performance of a contract: to provide the Product, licensing, activation, and support services

– Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Product

– Consent: where a user voluntarily provides information or enables optional functionality that requires consent

– Legal obligation: where processing is required for compliance with applicable law, accounting, tax, security, or marketplace obligations

7. Customer responsibility for Power BI report data

The customer, report author, or organization using Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI is responsible for deciding what data is added to the Visual.

 

Customers should avoid adding sensitive personal data to the Visual unless they have a lawful basis and appropriate authorization to do so.

 

Examples of sensitive or regulated data may include health data, precise personal location history, financial data, children’s data, government identifiers, or other special-category data under applicable law.

8. International data transfers

Because Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI uses cloud services, Microsoft Power BI, Google Maps Platform, and Dynamica Labs licensing or support services, information may be processed in countries other than the country where the customer or user is located.

 

Where required by applicable law, Dynamica Labs uses appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data, such as contractual protections, data processing terms, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

9. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

 

Typical retention periods include:

 

– Licensing and subscription records: retained for the duration of the customer relationship and as needed for legal, accounting, tax, audit, and dispute purposes

– Support communications: retained as needed to resolve support requests and maintain service history

– Technical logs: retained for a limited period needed for security, diagnostics, service reliability, and fraud prevention

– Power BI report data: Dynamica Labs does not intentionally store complete customer Power BI report datasets unless required for support and provided by the customer

 

When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or retain it only where required by law or legitimate business needs.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

 

These measures may include access controls, secure hosting, authentication, logging, monitoring, encryption in transit where supported, and restricted access to licensing and support systems.

 

No internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Customers are responsible for protecting their Power BI environment, Microsoft tenant, Google Maps API keys, report access, and user permissions.

11. Google Maps API keys

Customers may be required to provide their own Google Maps API key to use certain map functionality.

 

Customers are responsible for:

 

– Creating and managing the Google Maps API key

– Enabling required Google Maps Platform APIs

– Configuring billing in Google Cloud

– Restricting the API key appropriately

– Monitoring API usage and costs

– Complying with Google Maps Platform terms and policies

 

Dynamica Labs is not responsible for charges, misuse, restrictions, or billing issues related to a customer-managed Google Maps API key unless otherwise agreed in writing.

12. Cookies and website tracking

This Privacy Policy applies to Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI and related Product services.

 

If users visit Dynamica Labs websites, documentation pages, licensing portals, or support pages, those websites may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, analytics, preferences, or service operation.

 

Where required, website visitors may be presented with additional cookie notices or consent options.

13. Children’s privacy

Google Maps Advanced Visual for Power BI is intended for business and professional use in Microsoft Power BI. It is not directed to children.

 

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the Product.

The Product may contain links or integrations with third-party services, including Google Maps, Google Places, Google Street View, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft AppSource, and Microsoft Marketplace.

 

Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Dynamica Labs is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
